11 October 2019: Animoca Brands and F1® Delta Time announce that the “Japan Edition 2019” official Formula 1® (F1®) non-fungible token (NFT) will go on auction starting 14 October 2019 at 9 am (GMT) and ending 17 October 2019 at 9 am (GMT). See www.F1DeltaTime.com for auction details.

The “Japan Edition 2019” car is a single, one-of-a-kind official F1® digital collectible, as well as a powerful virtual racing car in the upcoming blockchain game F1® Delta Time. Being an NFT, this car’s authenticity and true digital ownership are guaranteed on blockchain.

The livery of the “Japan Edition 2019” car bears the kanji 令和, signifying Reiwa. Reiwa is the new era in Japan which began on 1 May 2019, and the word means “beautiful harmony”. The “Japan Edition 2019” car is the first official F1® product to celebrate the very first FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX of the Reiwa era took place on 13 October 2019.

The “Japan Edition 2019” car’s livery was inspired by the yoroi (armor) of a samurai; its intense color contrast of gold, red and black communicates this unique F1® car’s strength and elegance. The auction for the “Japan Edition 2019” car starts a day after the FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2019 - 14 October 2019 at 9 am (GMT), and ends on 17 October 2019 at 9 am (GMT). Participation requires a web browser that supports Ethereum wallets, as well as an Ethereum wallet; bids are made in wrapped ether (wETH).

F1® Delta Time has completed three auctions of unique and official Formula 1® NFTs. The landmark “1-1-1” car auction closed on 28 May 2019 for a record price of 415.9 ether (worth approximately A$160,000 at the time of sale); the “Monaco Edition 2019” car auction completed on 22 June 2019 for 108 ether (worth approximately A$43,000 at the time of sale); and the “France Edition 2019” closed on 15 July 2019 for 96.6 ether (worth approximately A$31,000 at the time of sale).
