Animoca Brands acquires SOMO

 

14 January 2026 - Animoca Brands, the global Web3 leader that leverages tokenization and blockchain to deliver digital property rights to consumers, today announced it has completed the acquisition of digital collectibles and gaming company SOMO

 

SOMO’s gaming ecosystem seeks to turn digital collectibles into playable, streamable, and tradeable assets across titles including SOMO Codex, SOMO Duel, and its flagship SOMO Battleground. 

 

Following the acquisition, Animoca Brands plans to leverage its existing Web3 ecosystem to supercharge the SOMO brand, enabling cross‑promotion and enhancing the growth of the combined communities.
