15 June 2023 - Be., a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, and the Australian Football League (AFL) today announced that the Throwbacks series of AFL Mint has begun with packs available starting from A$29 at AFL Mint.
AFL Mint was launched by Be. and officially licensed by AFL for fans and collectors to collect AFL Moments, which are NFTs that feature the iconic moments, spectacular highlights, and champion players of AFL.
The Throwbacks series of AFL Mint includes moments from legendary players of past decades. First to be released are the 16 iconic AFL moments and 16 superstars from the 1990s. These include 8 common, 5 deluxe, and 3 ovation tiered moments, with superstars including Billy Brownless, Nicky Winma, Peter Sumich, Tony Modra, and more.
Throwbacks is the third series for AFL Mint in 2023, following a successful collaboration series named Relentless with the 2022 Premiership winner Geelong Football Club in March. The inaugural AFL Mint series Ripper Skippers sold out in under 12 hours in August 2022, and the first five Season 2023 round-by-round moment drops, Mint Moments, sold out in less than 2 hours.
Buyers of the Throwbacks packs may be entitled to receive the Genesis ball, the coveted AFL Mint utility asset. There are only 2,022 Genesis balls in existence with over 1,000 already claimed. Genesis ball holders may be entitled to receive exceptional rewards such as premium tickets to the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, hospitality packages, merchandise discounts, exclusive AMAs, Kayo subscriptions, fun footy, and merchandise giveaways, plus an invitation to the upcoming inaugural AFL Mint Zone on 18 June at Marvel Stadium.
