Animoca Brands appoints Ken Cron as advisor to the board of directors
20 August 2020: Animoca Brands Corporation Limited (“the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mr Kenneth Dale Cron (Ken Cron) as advisor to the Company’s board of directors. Mr Cron’s experience, which covers both public and private companies, includes overseeing and growing organizations into global enterprises, revitalizing large companies, and launching start-ups with eventual public offerings.
Mr Cron is chairman and CEO of Coin Operated Games HODL, LLC (“COGS”), an operating company that incubates, acquires and operates game companies with a mission to gamify finance.
Throughout his career, Mr Cron has held a variety of leadership and investment positions in public and private companies and has extensive experience in building and growing businesses in the contemporary entertainment, media, and technology and finance sectors.
Mr Cron spent over 20 years at CMP Media, which under his leadership went public on NASDAQ in 1997 and grew from an information technology trade publishing company into a global, publicly traded media conglomerate.
From September 1999 to March 2001, Mr Cron was chairman and CEO of Uproar Inc., where he was responsible for taking the company public on NASDAQ in 2000, and led the sale of Uproar to Vivendi Universal in 2001. From 2001 to 2004, he was chairman and CEO of Vivendi Universal Games. From 2002 to 2006, Mr Cron was a director of CA, Inc., and was appointed interim CEO in April 2004; as CEO, Mr Cron moved quickly to stabilize the company and restore momentum. From June 2004 to December 2007, Mr Cron served as chairman of Midway Games.
Mr Cron has served on several boards and retains interests in a number of fast-growing, privately-held companies. He serves as an operating partner at Long Ridge Equity Partners and a senior advisor at Five Elms Capital. He also served as the chairman of Dotmenu, Inc. and engineered its sale to Grubhub in 2011. He served as a director of LogMeIn, Inc. from April 2007 to August 2010.
Mr Cron holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder.
