Animoca Brands Partners with MGA Entertainment to Develop Bratz® Games and NFT Dolls
17 December 2020: Animoca Brands Corporation Limited (“Animoca Brands” or the “Company”) announces that it has secured a brand and content license agreement with MGA Entertainment, Inc. for the fashion dolls franchise ‘Bratz®’. Animoca Brands will develop and publish a Bratz® blockchain game named Bratz Lookz™ and series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Bratz® mini-games, and digital Bratz® collectibles, starting with “Bratz Card Sale” on 22 December 2020.
Bratz® is a global fashion and lifestyle brand produced by MGA Entertainment. Since the launch of the Bratz® fashion dolls in 2001, it has amassed a loyal fanbase that spans the world. Bratz® has released a number of animated movies, TV and web series, and a live-action feature film titled Bratz: The Movie.
In February 2019, the “Bratz® Challenge”, an online social challenge in which fans and enthusiasts used makeup, clothing, and accessories to replicate the appearance of the girls with a #Passion4Fashion. The fan challenge garnered over 100,000 posts that used the hashtag #BratzChallenge on Instagram and over 800 Bratz Challenge videos were uploaded to YouTube in a single month, generating over 25 million views.
The partnership between Animoca Brands and MGA Entertainment will kick off with the launch of “Bratz Card Sale” on the WAX blockchain on 22 December 2020.
