Digital Hollywood and The Sandbox Partner to Accelerate the Creator Economy through Human Resource Development


Companies will present collaborative creator economy seminar on July 9, 2022 and Digital Hollywood will offer new courses for voxel artists and game makers

TOKYO and HONG KONG – 1 July 2022 – Digital Hollywood, a school for human resource development in IT and digital content, has partnered with The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, to hold a seminar on July 9 to commemorate the partnership. Digital Hollywood Studio will offer new courses in Japan to train voxel artists and game makers to prepare them to create content in The Sandbox.

The seminar, titled "First Steps in the Creator Economy of The Sandbox," will feature The Sandbox COO Sebastian Borget and other speakers. The creator economy in the title refers to the emerging digital economy that allows creators to earn revenue from their creations in platforms such as The Sandbox.


Digital Hollywood believes that The Sandbox’s business model, which allows users to participate in platform development and monetization, will resonate with many current students and graduates, and that the creative skills they have acquired can be leveraged to create quality games and assets on the popular platform. With The Sandbox surpassing three million registered users and over 300 brand partners developing LANDs in the metaverse, the demand for new content is constantly increasing. The two companies hope that The Sandbox will accelerate the creator economy and that many creators will be able to live their own lives in a metaverse free to create and own a digital identity where they can be appreciated for their skills without being bound by their gender, age, or nationality.


Digital Hollywood will jointly develop a new course to train game makers and voxel artists to create in The Sandbox. The course will be offered at Digital Hollywood Studio starting in September 2022. In addition, a competition will be held for the students of this course, and the winners will be eligible to join the Creator's Fund established by The Sandbox, which will provide funding and various other support for their production activities.

About The Sandbox Creator Economy Seminar at Digital Hollywood Tokyo Campus

While the concept of metaverse has been talked about a lot, many people still have never actually experienced it. Sebastian Borget, COO of The Sandbox, and six creators who earn SAND tokens, the platform's currency, by creating content will speak at the seminar. The creators  include voxel artists such as Ven Mashu, TomGlasses,  and Tomosan and game creators including hatomame, Sho, and Tanaka Sato. They will cover information about creators who are part of The Sandbox Creators Fund, including compensation, collaborative production, and the prospects for the Japanese community.
