The Sandbox and DanceFight announce ‘The Wild Ones’ street dance avatar collection

Featuring some of the world’s top street dancers and their signature dance moves, the collection of 3,130 playable avatars will generate proceeds that directly benefit the participating dancers


Hong Kong - 10 April 2023 - The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced that it has partnered with DanceFight, the world’s leading dance battle app, to create The Wild Ones, an exclusive avatar collection based on 10 of the world’s top street dancers – and their best moves.

Comprising 3,130 playable (and danceable) voxel avatars for The Sandbox, the collection launches on 19 April 2023. It represents the creative vision and IRL movements of the world’s top street dancers, brought into The Sandbox from the DanceFight app community. Avatars are based on real-life personalities from the DanceFight mobile community and are customized with a combination of unique, randomly generated traits. Each avatar comes preloaded with a unique set of dance moves based on the IRL dancing of a renowned street dancer. Thus, each dancer’s iconic IRL moves and styles can now be used by avatar owners as they dance their way through the metaverse. 


The Wild Ones were created to support a community of dancers who are extraordinarily talented. The dancers have been directly involved in the themes and design concepts that go into each of their avatars. And because these dancers are set up to receive the majority of sales from each avatar purchase, the Wild Ones have the potential to meaningfully and directly reward these artists.


The Wild Ones collection advances the partnership between The Sandbox and DanceFight, who are already collaborating to bring the authentic DanceFight experience to The Sandbox. The collaboration will bring head-to-head street dance competitions to the gaming metaverse for the first time, allowing players to fully express their dance skills, which now can include authentic street dance animations and avatars.


The Wild Ones Dancing Avatar Collection will be released in two waves:


  • Allowlist Release: 18 April 2023, 2pm UTC / 6am PST / 9am EST

  • Public Sale: 19 April 2022, 2pm UTC / 6am PST / 9am EST

  • Allowlisted users will have a chance to mint a maximum of two avatars per wallet within a 24-hour time period. When the public sale is live, users will have the chance to mint up to four avatars per wallet.
