The Sandbox opens new Voxel Madness virtual neighborhood themed around gaming
LAND sale will empower users to develop their games alongside iconic entertainment brands such as Dungeon Siege, Invincible, Cut the Rope, Habbo, Dogami, Voxies, and more
Hong Kong – 13 February 2023 – The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announces Voxel Madness, a new neighborhood of over 481 LAND parcels and 12 ESTATEs, where LAND owners will be neighbors with 11 popular entertainment, Web3 and video game brands. Its LAND sale for Voxel Madness, which features brands like Cut the Rope, Invincible, Dungeon Siege, and Habbo, will start 14 February 2023 at 3pm(UTC).

The Sandbox’s Voxel Madness gaming and entertainment-themed neighborhood will serve as the virtual local arcade for fans around the world. As the home in the metaverse of game creators, studios, and entertainment brands, Voxel Madness provides the opportunity for fans of Invincible, Dungeon Siege, Cut the Rope, Habbo, Madballs, AlienWorlds, Ledger, Kongregate, Voxies, Dogami, Tapnation, Playground Studio, and Hermit Crab Studio to create and host their own games alongside their favorite universes. The Voxel Madness neighborhood is located just East of Ubisoft’s LAND, as shown on the map below.

The sale will include standard and premium LANDs, and also exclusive larger ESTATEs that will be put up for auction directly on OpenSea, as detailed below:

385 LANDs will be for sale directly from The Sandbox website

45 Premium LANDs located directly next to major brands will be sold on The Sandbox website, packaged with a bundle of exclusive NFTs

Premium LANDs located in the neighborhoods of major brands are particularly scarce, and come with exclusive premium digital collectibles for fans of those brands. Premium LANDs also increase staking rewards and allow owners to use their collectibles in Game Maker to create unique experiences.
Registration for the sale is open to anyone, based on the raffle system introduced in December 2022 to ensure a fair purchasing process. Opportunities to participate in both standard and Premium LAND sales will be granted via:

A raffle system, which will ensure fairness of access to LAND (starting 14 February)

A KYC process, which will validate that all entrants are individuals with sufficient SAND (at least 1,011 SAND) on the Polygon network to purchase a LAND in their account.
An individual can register for the standard or Premium LAND sale, or both.
