The Sandbox partners with MetaFight to create new MMA-themed experience

Exclusive time-limited experience will take players outside the MMA cage for original quests and challenges

 

28 June 2023 - The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced a partnership with MMA management game MetaFight to create an exclusive, time-limited MMA-themed experience in The Sandbox. The MetaFight experience in The Sandbox will be separate and complementary to the MetaFight game, with unique gameplay activity and rewards.

MetaFight is an MMA management game featuring real fighters, where the player starts as an MMA fighter who realizes that their passion is to teach the art of competitive mixed martial arts combat. Players then build their gym, recruit and train fighters, and have them compete against the rosters of other players to claim rewards.

 

The MetaFight experience in The Sandbox will take players outside the gym. Through their avatar, the player will be an active participant who fights opponents, engages in social features, and undertakes quests. Player progress will be reflected in their leaderboard score, opening the way to earn rewards for as long as the experience is live.
