In Support of UNICEF, The Sandbox Gaming Virtual World Will Hold Its First Virtual LAND NFT Charity Auction
December 16, 2020: Animoca Brands announces the launch of its first-ever charity LAND auction through The Sandbox to support UNICEF*. For the first time ever, The Sandbox will auction a centrally located 12x12 Estate consisting of 144 LANDs from its limited reserve map, which will be auctioned through its partnership with OpenSea. This marks the first time that UNICEF will leverage NFT and blockchain-based technology for charity fundraising. The Estate offers game creators the opportunity to acquire a highly sought location right at the center of The Sandbox’s Metaverse, while supporting a good cause.
The LAND NFT Charity auction will take place between December 18th at 1PM GMT and December 21st at 1PM GMT and will be held exclusively in $SAND tokens, the native cryptocurrency of The Sandbox gaming virtual world. All proceeds of the LAND auction will be donated to support UNICEF’s Crypto Fund, contributing to fund open source technology benefiting children and young people around the world.
