Animoca Brands launches AliBAE build-and-earn platform powered by Alibaba’s Qwen models with 100,000 CHECK in opening bounty rewards

Animoca Brands, a global digital assets leader building and investing in impactful technologies and ecosystems to reimagine future economies, today announced the launch of AliBAE (“BAE” stands for build-and-earn), a platform powered by Alibaba’s Qwen models that enables creators to produce AI-assisted content and applications and earn bounty rewards based on the quality of their creations and community contributions. AliBAE is now live in early access at alibae.build, and offers 100,000 CHECK Token (CHECK) in opening bounty rewards across two launch campaigns by Animoca Minds and King's Gambit.

AliBAE is built around a build‑and‑earn model that connects brands with creators through competitive bounty campaigns. Brands publish a creative brief and allocate a CHECK Token reward pool. Creators then use AliBAE Studio, an AI creation suite powered by Alibaba’s Qwen model family, to produce videos, applications, and other content. Rewards for the content created are determined based on a combination of community engagement and the AliBAE team’s judging criteria.

AliBAE Studio is integrated directly into AliBAE. Each bounty brief is preloaded as a creation prompt, lowering the technical and production barrier for first-time creators. As of January 2026, Alibaba's Qwen family had recorded more than 700 million downloads on the developer platform Hugging Face, making it the most downloaded open-source AI model series globally, and had supported the creation of more than 180,000 derivative models built by developers worldwide.

The CHECK Token, which has recently been added to the Coinbase listing roadmap, is central to the AliBAE economy. Creators earn CHECK by producing work that performs well under each campaign’s evaluation criteria. CHECK underpins in-game economies, merchandise, and governance across the Checkmate Ecosystem, the gaming network for next-generation, community-owned strategy games utilizing blockchain technology. The ecosystem includes Anichess, which has more than one million players and was developed by Animoca Brands in partnership with Chess.com. AliBAE extends the role of CHECK beyond gaming into the creator and builder economy.

To mark the launch of AliBAE, an initial bounty reward pool of 100,000 CHECK is available across two of AliBAE's launch campaigns: Animoca Minds and King’s Gambit.

Animoca Minds, the cloud-based AI platform launched by Animoca Brands to deploy persistent sovereign AI agents, is offering 50,000 CHECK for the best 20-second AI-generated video showing how personal AI agents can change daily life. Submissions will be evaluated on a blended score comprising 50% community engagement and 50% quality assessment. The Animoca Minds campaign runs until 8 April 2026.

King's Gambit, the chess survival mobile game developed by Anichess, is offering 50,000 CHECK across ten winning entries for short-form video content inspired by the game. Entries will be ranked based on judging quality scores. The King’s Gambit campaign runs until 8 April 2026.

AliBAE is designed to address structural issues in the creator economy. Although the global creator economy reached US$254.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$2,084.57 billion by 2035 (source: Precedence Research), rewards remain concentrated among a small proportion of content creators. In many digital and Web3 systems, reward models have historically favored task completion or activity volume rather than the quality of the resulting work. AliBAE is intended to align rewards more closely with creative contribution and output quality.
