L’OFFICIEL, fashion media company part of AMTD IDEA, and The Sandbox announce reinforced partnership for the launch of “Fashion Dune” and cover of the magazine’s June metaverse issue

Paris, May 26th, 2022 — L’OFFICIEL, the centennial fashion and luxury media company led by Hong Kong investment group AMTD Idea, and The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announced today the start of their partnership, kicking off the media company’s upcoming Metaverse Issue and its global Metamonth celebration.

The Paris-born fashion media company, which recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary, will be launching a brand new “Fashion Dune” LAND in The Sandbox. Created by Benjamin Eymère, Chief Metaverse Officer of AMTD group together with the founders of The Sandbox, Arthur Madrid and Sébastien Borget, this virtual space was born from a widening digital frontier, and the challenge presented by finding a new way to convey editorial content. Inspired by Mars-like desert landscapes, the open air cultural space features giant historic covers of L’Officiel, from its centennial archives. The L’OFFICIEL LAND acts as an open-air exhibition, a digital theater which will open with a series of fashion and cultural exhibitions in September 2022.

The collaboration marks the upcoming publication of the magazine’s newest Metaverse Issue, dedicated to all things Web3 through the lens of luxury fashion, from crypto to blockchain, and how the NFT market is disrupting the art world and pushing brands to imagine their space within digital realms.

Starring on the cover of this new issue are the co-founders of The Sandbox, Arthur Madrid and Sébastien Borget, who pull the curtain back on their experiential universe as well as their latest project in an exclusive interview.

The Metaverse issue opens the stage for L’Officiel’s Metamonth, a world-wide virtual and inperson celebration and exploration of Web 3 throughout 32 in-language websites and print editions, and a number of exclusive events.
