The Sandbox Partners with Zombie Zoo Keeper and Minto to Build Zombie Zoo Land in Its Metaverse

Zombie Zoo, the Viral Hit NFT Zombie Art Project Created by a Japanese Boy, Will Come to Life on Its Own LAND in The Sandbox

HONG KONG – May 12, 2022 – The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announced today that it is partnering with Zombie Zoo Keeper, the nine year-old Japanese NFT prodigy, and with Minto, a company that delivers content from manga and anime creators to the world, to create a Zombie Zoo Land experience in The Sandbox metaverse. The Zombie Zoo experience will be created on its own dedicated LAND and will be the first NFT-native IP from Japan to have its own LAND sale in The Sandbox.

Zombie Zoo is an NFT pixel art project originally created by Zombie Zoo Keeper. Each piece in the series was hand-drawn on an iPad as a zombified image of people, animals, the alphabet and more.  The project currently consists of over 250 artworks and is traded on the OpenSea NFT marketplace, where it was discovered by music creators. All the Zombie Zoo works have sold out while gaining traction on social media, and Zombie Zoo Keeper was the youngest person selected for the “2021 Forbes Japan 100” list.

Part virtual real estate, part amusement park, The Sandbox fully embraces the idea of the metaverse as a continuous shared digital space where worlds and heroes collide to make magic. 

 

The Zombie Zoo project joins over 200 global brands – including Adidas, Snoop Dogg, Warner Music Group, Ubisoft and Rabbids, Shibuya 109, Gucci, HSBC, The Walking Dead, The Smurfs, and CryptoKitties – that have already formed IP partnerships to create voxelized versions of their worlds and characters in the metaverse.
